1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using C4 Owner ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

C4 Owner is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that helps Control4 home automation system owners understand, manage, and back up their systems. The Service provides:

  • Device discovery and identification
  • Room organization and management
  • Project file (.c4p) backup and analysis
  • Connection and binding visualization
  • Educational content about system management

C4 Owner is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Control4 Corporation or Snap One.

3. User Responsibilities

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own or have authorized access to the Control4 equipment you manage through our Service
  • You are responsible for compliance with any applicable terms of service from Control4 or your dealer
  • You will not use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • The information you provide is accurate and current

4. Jailbreak Guidance Disclaimer

The Service may provide educational information about modifying Control4 systems ("jailbreaking"). This content is provided for informational purposes only.

Important: Jailbreaking your Control4 system may void your warranty, affect dealer support, and potentially damage your system. C4 Owner does not provide jailbreak tools, does not perform jailbreaking, and does not guarantee compatibility with any specific system version. You proceed entirely at your own risk.

Any links to third-party tools or resources are provided for reference only. C4 Owner does not host, maintain, or endorse these tools.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of any information
  • Warranties of compatibility with your Control4 system or any specific version

We do not guarantee that backups will be recoverable, that device discovery will be complete, or that any configuration changes will work as expected.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, C4 OWNER AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of data or system configurations
  • Damage to Control4 equipment or connected devices
  • Loss of warranty coverage
  • Costs of dealer service calls
  • Business interruption or loss of use

Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to C4 Owner in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless C4 Owner and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Any modifications you make to your Control4 system
  • Any third-party claims related to your system modifications

8. Subscription and Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. You may cancel at any time, and your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are provided at our discretion.

We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page. Upon deletion, your data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
